MARITIME MUSEUM - THE CELT EXHIBITION
Itchy-Feet have worked with NationalMuseums and Galleries in Liverpool for over ten years.
This has involved us collaborating with Museums, local schools and the public to create a wide range of craft workshops to coincide with major exhibitions and events including; ‘Ship Wreck’, ‘The Celts’, ‘The Big Draw’ and the textile exhibition ‘Cotton’.
To celebrate the Capital of Culture theme for 2004 of ‘Faith in one city’, we were commissioned by the National Museums and Galleries of Liverpool to create a major community arts project titled, ‘Flag it up’.
This project involved Itchy-Feet, producing a series of workshops with a diverse range of community and faith organisations across the city. This enabled groups to design and create ‘faith’ flags to reflect what faith meant to them in the 21st century.
The completed flags were flown at prime locations across the city, such as the Town Hall, St. George’s Hall and the Pier Head for the duration of the year.
Itchy-Feet have also produced painted murals for the MaritimeMuseum. These include underwater scenes of the Albert dock for the ‘Dock Watch Project’, which will be used educationally with schools and members of the public.
We have recently completed the scenery backdrop, as shown on our home page, for the theatrical performance of ‘South Pole’, which was a part of the 6 month ‘Shackleton’ exhibition.
All of the work above is displayed on the various pages of this website
